Heart of American Maxi-Scoot Meet Up
HAMS III
St. Louis, Missouri
June 10, 11, 12 & 13, 2010

The Gateway Maxi Riders of the St. Louis Scooter Club proudly presents HAMS III in St. Louis this year!  We are so excited to show you the great roads we have on our side of the great State of Missouri!  We can hardly believe this is our third year for HAMS!  The previous two years have been great and we have all made so many new friends; we plan to continue the great concept of coming together for fellowship and riding! While the name does say Maxi Scoot Meet Up, we welcome all kinds of bikes and in each of our previous years we have had all things two wheels and even some things three wheeled! Clear your schedule and come on out, you are in for the ride of your life!

HAMS III 2010 Schedule

Thursday June 10, 2010

7:30pm – Members of the SLSC will be at the hotel to meet and greet anyone coming in Thursday!
We will head out to break bread together at 8pm!  (Location to be determined)

Let the HAMS begin!!

Friday June 11, 2010

9:30am  - Lewis and Clark Ride hosted by the Gateway Maxi Riders of the St. Louis Scooter Club
A leisurely ride paralleling the route Lewis and Clark made out of St. Louis. We will ride out to Herman and the wine country of Missouri.  Do you like meat??  Yes! Well then get ready for a carnivores delight! We will stop for lunch at Swiss Meats! One of the best meat shops in the US!

6:00pm - Friday Night Meet and Greet with Pizza (but this time with St. Louis pizza!!)
Following our laid back tradition of previous HAMS Meet Ups we will have a meet and greet at the host hotel.

8:30pm - Night Ride Downtown hosted by the St. Louis Scooter Club
Head on a night ride down and see some of the highlights of our great host city! I have no doubts an Arch sighting will occur!  Have you seen the City Gardens? No? Well you will tonight!  They are spectacular and a new sparkling jewel in our fine city!

Saturday June 12, 2010

8:30am - Breakfast by the Pool hosted by the St. Louis Scooter Club
Sure the hotel has a free continental breakfast but you are in St. Louis!  You will be treated to the St. Louis delicacy known as gooey butter cake!

9am - Bixby Ride co-hosted by the Gateway Maxi Riders of the SLSC and The Gateway Rockers
A leisurely ride on the best twisties in the State!  We will head to one of only four of Missouri’s covered bridges! Then we will twist and turn, one after another right through the heart of the Mark Twain National Forest to Bixby!   Ever ate lunch in a train caboose??  You will today!

7pm – Supper at the River City Casino
Supper at the brand spanking new River City Casino!  Bring your appetite and if you choose, your pennies for the penny slots!

Sunday June 13, 2010

9am Breakfast hosted by the St. Louis Scooter Club at the host hotel
Enjoy a breakfast before hitting the road!
10am ride to Labadie hosted by the Gateway Maxi Riders of the St. Louis Scooter Club
If anyone is staying Sunday the Gateway Maxi Riders will host a leisurely ride out to Labadie via what we like to call our Meet the Twisties in the Neighborhood ride!  This rides takes us out west( so if you are headed west we are happy to get you on your way!)

Host Hotel

Oak Grove Inn 6602 S Lindbergh Blvd St Louis, MO 63123-7808 - (314) 894-9449

Please make reservations prior to April 10th, 2010 to guarantee the block group rate of $59.99.  Just call and ask for the St. Louis Scooter Club block when booking.  They have 30 double bed rooms set aside for us and 15 singles. Well now 29 because even though Pete and I live very close we plan to stay at the host hotel.  Many others in our club plan to stay at the Oak Grove! Given the great fun we have had at previous HAMS this sounds like a prudent plan!

Registration this year will be free! If you choose to get a T-shirt, patch and sticker a link will be made available as soon as our artist cranks out this year’s new logo! All orders for merchandise must be placed no later than April 15th, 2010!

I should have the registration page up by this weekend.

Pete and I were speaking about alternative rain rides.  If there is rain we would still ride just not as far as the above rides.

We would do more urban things like the Confluence/Grafton, Illinois Bluff ride, etc.
