The Wednesday night of the Northern Version of the SLSC will do a ride down Iron Mountain Pass.  Meet at Mount Rushmore and leave at 7pm sharp.  Treacherous curves, pigtail bridge loops, mountain goats, buffalo and fantastic vista scenery.  We will stop at Mocha Moose along the way...  50ccers I recommend leaving now to be on time wink

Ed Reggi and myself would like to meet @ BottleWorks if that is agreeable with everyone.
Then perhaps a short but enjoyable jaunt to Ted Drewes for some more fun.

Ahh darn I thought for sure you were headed this way!

We have decided to do the ride but skip the ice cream place and go have buffalo ribs!

Pete and I have both lost weight on this trip between buffalo and match meat (grass meat per Mark)

It's Mulch Meat and they sell it by the bag. Doesn't have to be grass

Outstanding Wednesday night Northern SLSC meeting/ride participation was 100% of the club!!  We did the Sylvan Lake/Needles/Custer Park Loop with a side trip to Crazy Horse for our last visit. (Pete and I really really dig this place)  After wards ate dinner at the Elk Canyon Cafe then on to the Pie Palace for desert.

Here are some pictures from our evening....

Well I can't match the beautiful scenery of the northern meeting. I can say it was nice to be back at the 'ol BW.

* DSCN0666.jpg (148.41 KB. 640x480 - viewed 94 times.)

As I was taking off my helmet an elderly party was passing by and said to Ed "Where have you guys been ??? We missed you."
I swear!!  Hello  So Wendy, Billy, Ed Reggi and myself chatted for a bit and checked out the Farmers Market that has at least doubled in size.
We had new rider, Tom, show up on his scooter and ready to ride with us. A gal, Terri from Arnold also a new rider showed up, in her cage because she lives in Arnold? and didn't want ride to the meeting alone. She is really exciting about riding and we told her we could hook her up with riders down her way.

We decided to do a run to Ted Drewes. Since it is not a very long ride we took Pete's Autobahn (the scenic River Des Peres) for a run and guess what it is open, the bridge work is complete!! On the way down we saw a fellow scooterist pulled over by the law in the opposite direction So I figured I better slow the speed a bit.

After finally being able to make a left at the light where RDP ends ( I alway forget the name of that road) Headed down Germania to MoganFord Back over to RDP to Ted Drewes for a delicious concrete!  tongue
Looking forward to next week when get our folks back in town for a larger turnout.    Scooter3

What a great Wednesday night meetup last night was!

I would without doubt say it was the best Wednesday meet-up in a LONG TIME.  You cannot imagine my face (and Wendy's and Sco's) when this group of folks stopped and looked at us and said, "HEY where have you guys been?"  I scratched my head and said, "Ah, what?"  They basically said, "we missed seeing all the shiny, interesting scooters out here."

I cannot tell you the handfuls of people stopping and gawking over our scooters, and asking me a question here and there.  I even walked to get some water (I still owe you a water Wendy!) and some young couple working a booth says, "Hi scooter guys!" from across her booth.

There was also another scooter rider who pulled up and parked in our line up.   Wendy and I were trying to act all neat, and said "do you know her?"  Well it turns out she gets off her scooter and says, "Is it okay I park here?"   We said, "YES!"  It turns out she was just there to shop.   She comes back and I talk with her - nice lady who really rides the heck out of her scooter!   She will also stop by again next Wednesday.

Seriously this is how we grow a club - new blood in the veins.

I cannot wait for next Wednesday night to see all my SLSC friends and make some new ones.  Sco - I loved your idea of waiting until after 730pm to ride.  The congestion off southwest avenue around 6-7pm is all from those diverting the big bend closure and those coming to shop at BW.   I think holding off to 7:30pm really worked.   Plus I got home around 9pm and it was still daylight!

I am also suggesting we ride to CityGardens - the new Amazing 50 million dollar park downtown - on 7/8/09

7:30 is a little better for me since it gives me time to get home from downtown after work and treck back from Fenton.  Unfortunately next Wednesday is out.  We are still supporting the All Star Fan Fest down at the Convention Center on that particular night, I'm not off of work till 8PM.  Probably won't see any of you until I get back from our Wi. vacation which will be later on in July. Events like this Fan Fest are no fun for us down at the Convention Center.  Lot's of support issues and hand holding.  Glad I head out as soon as this is all over.  It's going to be a long couple of weeks.  Luckily we are off this weekend.  Maybe if the weather holds we can get a ride in then.

I'll be stopping by BW to say "HI" as often as possible! I will be passing on Wed. night rides, due to the time it'll take to get the masses "rolling".  I'm not a night owl. Whistle

On Reggi's "Seriously this is how we grow a club - new blood in the veins" quote.... I agree 100%!  Two Thumbs
